All kids must read the Bible, federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott says

“I think everyone should have some familiarity with the great texts that are at the core of our civilisation,” said the Federal Opposition leader.

“That includes, most importantly, the Bible.

“I think it would be impossible to have a good general education without at least some serious familiarity with the Bible and with the teachings of Christianity.

Mercy Ministries faith-based charity, which claims to help young women aged 16-28 suffering crises such as mental illness, unplanned pregnancy (not surprisingly, abortion is NEVER an option), drug addiction and other life challenges. It is supported heavily by Gloria Jean's coffees, and has ties with the Hillsong pentecostal church in Sydney. According to the article, many women were denied proper medical and psychological treatment, being instead told to pray and cast out Satan.

The victims also state that the program required them to sign over all their welfare benefits, or make donations to Mercy Ministries. The Secular Party are firmly against this sort of abuse and encourage all our members to boycott Gloria Jean's coffee stores.
