The Australian Secular Lobby advocates for the distinct separation of Church and State in each State and Territory within Australia.
We are not a political party but a lobby group aiming to take our cause to all governments and parties within Australia.

We need to balance the lobby groups in Parliament the Australian Christian Lobby have a foothold and a Chaplain with his own office in our Parliament House.
That is too much religion in our governing body.
STUDENTS at one NSW school were told by an untrained scripture teacher they would “burn in hell” if they didn’t believe in Jesus
And, elsewhere in the state, children at other schools were given creationism showbags. A survey by Sydney’s Macquarie University also found 70 per cent of scripture teachers think children should be taught the Bible as historical fact and 80 per cent believe students should not be exposed to non-Christian beliefs.
The survey found a group of scripture volunteers were distributing kits called “Creation For Kids” containing colouring books, calendars and DVDs deriding evolution and claiming that the universe was only 6000 years old.

Given the vast number of religious based submissions it is unclear how loudly our rational and secular voice will be heard, but it is important for all Australians that any tax breaks given benefit everyone, and are not limited to magical thinking sub sets.
Religious organisations wishing to continue providing charitable services are quite free to do so under the same rules, regulations, and scrutiny secular charities have endured for decades. Open financial books, regular audits, and demonstrating your services are beneficial to society are all required by all organisations not trying to please space ghosts. In a modern society, why are beliefs in spirits, ghosts, afterlives, or telepathic comic deities relevant to you tax status?
When have they ever been?

Catholics try new tack in ethics row
JACQUELINE MALEY June 8, 2010
THE Catholic Church has joined the chorus of religious voices opposing the trial of ethics classes in schools.
It has organised a petition arguing that the classes should not be held ”in competition” with scripture because it means religious children miss out on ethics.
———-
qp: So according the the Catholic Church religion does NOT teach ethics! Just their brand of Myths.
Children need to b taught ethics so the teachers can get on with teaching.
If the children have a solid grounding of ethics then problems like bullying and family abuse would be handled better.
The Anglican church suggest the curriculum teaches ethics and that is from a Company Church which are using their Charity (Anglicare) to pay for the abuses of children by their clergy.

We are constantly being bombard with the verbiage from Christians and other religions the they are source of compassion. However the evidence is to the contrary.
The Catholic church only shows compassion to its clergy, victims of abuse from priests are the people made to feel guilt, the clergy get forgiven.
Take our esteemed Bishop George Pell, would anyone regard him as a compassionate man? Personally I could see him as a leader or the most foul practices for the inquisition. I can see him staying awake at night thinking up some new and exotic torture to inflict on Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.
Just because religions claim to be charitable and compassionate their word ‘holy’ means selfish and judgmental.
The leaders of religion are the real Devil.
We need to express our concerns about the way the Australian ‘Christian’ Lobby are becoming a major influence over our policy makers.
Why does our Federal Parliament need a Christian chaplain?
That’s just medieval.
The leaders of our major political parties are fellow travelers with the “Australian Christian Lobby!”
It could be said that our parliaments (state and federal) are controlled by groups calling themselves Christian to give them a semblance of respectability.
Who are these people? We have recently discovered that the Catholic Priesthood are not practicing what they are preaching. What other hidden agendas are being masked behind the word Christian?
What Are Christian Values?
- Anti-Femenism.
- Anti-Abortion.
- Women stay at home.
- No Sex Education
- No Condoms
- Sexual Discrimination, especially against Gays
- Not adoption or IVF for Lesbians.
- Censor the Internet,
- Restrict Computer Games
- Increase the amount of Censorship.
- No choice for Euthanasia.
- No Gambling.
- No Alcohol
- Bring Sharia Law in for any religion who wants their own laws and punishments.
- A ban on all X-rated porn
- At fault divorce laws to be re-introduced.
- No embryonic stem cell research.
With the power the Australian Christian Lobby obviously have over our leaders, how do we know that they represent the interests of Christian Families?
.
The Time has come to start writing letters and blogs showing our concern that we are being transformed into a Theocracy.
